City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.Directs the care of the patient through the nursing process and through collaboration with the patient, their family and other health care professionals. Provides leadership to non-licensed staff by setting an example of excellence.Assesses the needs of the patient through a holistic approach on an ongoing basis. Provides information to physicians and other health care professionals of any changes in patient condition. Adjusts treatment based on multidisciplinary plan of care.The successful candidate:Must be able to work FT; 4-10s per week 6:45a-5:15p, Call rotation also required.Plan, deliver, direct, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic interventions based on needs identified in the assessment process.Document interventions provided.Supervise care delivery by unlicensed support staff.Provide education regarding disease processes, side effects of treatment, and health promotion.Offer support and reassurance to ensure informed decisions are made regarding the individual’s therapeutic plan.Document according to department standards.Ensure compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies.Participate in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures.Actively participate in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit.Obtain allergy information and handle medication reconciliation with the patient or family member.Communicate this information to other providers.Verify and note physician orders.Provide safe delivery of prescribed medications and treatments, and evaluate outcomes in a timely manner.QualificationsYour qualifications should include:Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License requiredBSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and BSN completed within three years from hire date.Current BLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)Current ACLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)Oncology experience preferredRecent ICU and/or OR experience preferredExperience in caring for patients with invasive pressure lines desirableExperience in caring for patients who are on mechanical ventilation desirableCity of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
