Aptive Resources is seeking experienced Long Term Care Registered Nurses (LTC RNs) to join the team at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. The LTC RNs will provide comprehensive care to veterans in a long-term care setting, addressing a wide range of physical and psychological diagnoses with various treatment modalities. The nurse will function both dependently and independently under the guidance and direction of the Nurse Manager/designee.Shifts: Nurses can expect to work eight (8), ten (10), or twelve (12) hour shifts, or a combination, with rotating weekends and holidays.Primary ResponsibilitiesPatient Care: Assume patient care assignments for groups of patients.

Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate patient care.

Provide care for patients requiring special precautions such as isolation.

Perform complex wound dressing care and maintenance.

Provide psychological support to patients as indicated. Clinical Procedures: Insert and maintain peripheral lines.

Maintain central lines for the administration of intravenous fluids.

Administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous) and blood products.

Provide emergency care as indicated.

Perform phlebotomy and bedside testing.

Verify physician orders. Documentation and Communication: Complete and accurately document patient care according to facility/unit policies.

Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to facilitate positive patient care outcomes. Professional Standards: Ensure nursing care complies with accepted standards of care and clinical practice.

Maintain certifications and continue professional development.

Adhere to safety protocols and utilize proper body mechanics to prevent injury. Minimum Qualifications Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years current experience in a long-term care setting. Must have worked within the last six months.

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field, or a Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field is highly preferred.

Proficient in long-term care nursing practices and procedures.

Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex patient care.

Ability to perform under pressure in emergency situations.

Excellent documentation and communication abilities.

Team-oriented with a focus on collaborative patient care.
