Job Description:Director, Data Architect – Mainframe MigrationIn this leadership role you will drive innovation in the Data Strategy space for the Workplace Investing (WI) division of Fidelity Investment. You will work with WI Architects to formulate the strategy and adoption of emerging data technologies to help the modernization of legacy mainframe applications along with many other innovative. You will work closely with business partners and technology teams to understand business objectives and help define the appropriate architecture direction.The Expertise and Skills You BringEducation – BS or MS requiredDemonstrated technology and personal leadership experience in architecting, designing, and building highly scalable transactional, analytical, and reporting applicationsAbility to formulate data strategy, conceptual architecture and work with development teams to execute the strategyExpertise in data management standard methodologies such as data integration, data security, data warehousing, data analytics, metadata management and data qualityAbility to evaluate, prototype and recommend emerging data technologies and platformsDemonstrated experience developing enterprise applications and data solution in the cloud – Azure/AWSExperience architecting large complex systems with large volume and high-performance requirementsStrong understanding of Data Modeling concepts including 3rd normal form and dimensional modelingExpertise in relational database technologies such as Oracle and Snowflake; cloud native databases such as Yugabyte DB and Cockroach DB; and NoSQL databases such as AerospikeExpertise in programming languages such as SQL and Python, Java a plusExperience with relevant Azure services such as Subscriptions, Virtual Networks, VMs, Storage Accounts, etc. requiredETL experience on-prem and the cloud, preferred Python, Informatica and SnaplogicExperience with data processing concepts such as Change Data Capture, Eventing, and Streaming technologiesAnalytical reporting experience, preferably Snowflake and PowerBIStrong understanding of cloud concepts, specifically transactional resiliency, scalability, and performance from a data/database perspectiveUnderstanding of mainframe technology desired but not neededMainframe Modernization Experience a big plusJoin UsAt Fidelity, you’ll find endless opportunities to build a meaningful career that positively impacts peoples’ lives, including yours.
