Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic Consulting Accounting Specialist (Contract) to join our thriving Engineering company. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting and Financial Management. As a Consulting Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, including full-cycle bookkeeping, A/R, invoicing, entries, and reconciliations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, and contributing to our financial strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Perform full cycle bookkeeping, including managing all aspects of A/R, A/P, and billing.
  • Conduct regular 3-way match audits to ensure accuracy of invoices and purchase orders.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheets, ledgers, and accounts to keep track of financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end close financial statements.
  • Analyze and report on financial status, including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the Engineering industry.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
  • Strong experience in both the private and public accounting sectors.
  • Ability to perform 3-way match, manage A/R, invoicing, entries, invoices, reconciliations, journal entries, reconcile, balance sheet, AP, monthly, year-end close, full cycle bookkeeping, and financials.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Sharp time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals.
  • Fluency in managing intercompany transactions and processing corporate consolidation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
  • Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
