Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent role within our Finance department, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to and shape the financial success of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing presentations for board meetings, assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, and analyzing financial data to provide insights for decision-making. This position will play a key role in optimizing processes, maintaining flowcharts, assisting with financial model assessments, and communicating validation results to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare presentations in support of board meetings, monthly/quarterly senior leadership meetings, and various strategic committees
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Draft quarterly financial statements with footnotes
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights for decision-making
  • Assist supervisor in optimizing processes and streamlining procedures for increased internal control efficiency
  • Maintain flowcharts identifying key processes and related controls, identify issues, and work with process owners to resolve the issues
  • Assist with assessment and validation of financial models
  • Use testing methods to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Communicate validation results and recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Draft written reports, graphs, and presentation materials to communicate Association financial and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted
  • Create standard monthly budget reports
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
  • Support Senior Management Team and Departments heads with in-depth analysis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Finance industry
  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and data analysis
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to financial reporting
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred.
