Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 per year

Senior Mechanical Engineer PE – Technical Lead

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to Lead our Team in San Francisco. Successful candidates will be passionate about Sustainable and High Performance Building Design. This individual will Manage operations, execution, and expectations for the Mechanical Engineering Discipline. Must be able to Lead & Manage multiple concurrent Projects. Client facing, Comfortable Leading a Team and Meeting with Clients & Contractors. Must have strong technical skills and background in HVAC Systems Design, responsible for participating in the design process of mechanical building systems and preparing detailed mechanical engineering design calculations and drawings of mechanical systems, from schematics through construction administration, on a wide range of building types. Preferred experience in Civic/Intuitional, Sports & Recreation, Higher Education, Healthcare/Laboratories, Mission Critical, Government, and Commercial & Corporate Spaces.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering for discipline work
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • 5-10 years’ work experience in the AEC/built environment space
  • Thorough understanding of interdisciplinary coordination
  • Advanced understanding of the application of building codes and mechanical industry standards
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, able to effectively communicate design options
  • Able to assemble and run a team
  • Strong delegation skills
  • Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite

Duties:

  • Project team leadership and discipline project management, complete the project on time within budget
  • Preparation of deliverable documents including narratives, calculations, drawings and specifications
  • Attend client meetings, lead the coordination effort between external and internal project teams
  • Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete a project from concepts through construction
  • Utilize proficiency in mechanical system design, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Energy Modeling
  • Assemble effective project teams; inspire and motivate staff
  • Oversee engineering calculations and equipment selection
  • Perform site visits and issues reports
  • Provide training, guidance and development for staff
  • Write specifications; provide updates to master specifications and standards, and improve company processes
  • Develop client relationships
  • Participate on firm leadership committees
  • Oversee the application of the project quality management plan (QMP)
  • May be responsible as the Engineer of Record (EOR)
  • Serve as a technical resource for the company
