Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our team. This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in finance, specifically within the property and residential accounting sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and success of our organization. They will work closely with our finance team, managing a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries, month-end close, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation. Familiarity with HUD and Yardi systems is a must.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform general ledger accounting tasks, maintaining accuracy and integrity of all financial data.
  2. Prepare and post monthly journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.
  3. Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  4. Prepare financial statements and reports, providing clear and accurate financial information to senior management.
  5. Manage property and residential accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  6. Utilize HUD and Yardi systems for various accounting and financial reporting tasks.
  7. Collaborate with the finance team on budget preparation and financial planning.
  8. Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  9. Perform financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making purposes.
  10. Ensure compliance with all internal policies and relevant regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations and legislation.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar role.
  3. Proficiency in preparing journal entries, financial statements, and general ledger accounting.
  4. Strong experience with property and residential accounting.
  5. Proficiency in HUD and Yardi systems.
  6. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  7. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  11. Professional certification like CPA or CMA is an advantage.
