Director of Communications and Creative Strategy

will drive innovation in our marketing efforts, enhance our university's brand, and support our enrollment and advancement objectives across many departmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

As the

Director of Communications and Creative Strategy

with Capitol Technology University, you will be leading the Marketing & Communications team, whose efforts are dedicated to promoting the visibility and community reach of our institution. You will be instrumental as a leader and main point of contact for the department for inter-departmental projects.

Strategic Leadership:

Collaborate with the admissions and recruitment team, enrollment management team, advancement team, and faculty to develop and implement innovative marketing and communications strategies that drive student engagement and enrollment. Additionally, contribute to stakeholder engagement initiatives for strategic partnerships and marketing projects.

Team Management:

Oversee a talented team of 3 full-time staff creatives, consisting of writers, a graphic designer, and a social media specialist, along with contractors and student employees, while fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and communication.

Project Oversight:

Develop, monitor, and execute project timelines for various initiatives, events, and requests, including digital and print marketing materials, website updates, advertising campaigns, and university publications.

Brand Continuity:

Ensure consistency with the university’s visual brand voice and guide the creation and enforcement of the University’s Brand Guide and communications policies across all departments.

Content Creation:

Oversee and assist with the writing, design, and editing of high-quality communication materials tailored to diverse audiences, including monthly e-newsletters, bi-annual printed magazines, and other publications.

Community Engagement:

Represent the university at key meetings and events, enhancing our presence and influence within the academic and local community.

Efficiency and Innovation:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and budget savings while staying current with design trends to keep the university’s brand relevant.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications, digital communications, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of three years in marketing and communications required, preferably within an academic environment.

Management:

Proven leadership in managing teams and projects required. PMP experience preferred but not required.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with Outlook, MS Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, ADA Compliance, and project management software preferred.

Leadership Skills:

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, work internally with departments, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment required.
