What will I be doing? As Assistant Director of Events at Signia by Hilton Atlanta, you will be responsible for event documentation and coordination with Sales, other hotel departments, and customers to ensure a seamless and high-level service experience throughout all event phases. Your role primarily involves managing complex events and supporting the Director of Catering and Events. You will also contribute to achieving superior business results by delivering excellent guest service, fostering team engagement, and driving favorable financial outcomes. Key responsibilities include: Innovatively and efficiently implement Commercial strategic initiatives to achieve best-in-class results. Drive creativity within event delivery while ensuring high standards of quality. Partner with the General Manager and Executive Committee to deliver outstanding event experiences that align with Hilton’s values. Provide owner relations guidance in key areas of event expertise (Banquet Capital Expenditures, Staffing Models). Actively support and participate in the sales process to secure new business. Leadership: Provide leadership and direction in all event-related matters. Serve as the hotel’s Subject Matter Expert for event experiences. Be a visible, participatory leader, engaging with the Executive Committee, Sales, Catering, Events team members, and external guests. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to improve processes and share insights. Represent Signia by Hilton Atlanta at industry events and professional associations. Culture: Foster a high-performing, multi-cultural, and multi-generational team to build Hilton’s Events talent pipeline. Integrate Hilton’s Values/Mission/Purpose into all event initiatives. Lead with Hilton’s culture, engaging Team Members through meaningful interactions. Act as an ambassador for customer service, ensuring client satisfaction. Talent: Motivate team members by creating a productive and positive work environment. Ensure all Event Manager roles have clear career development plans and profiles for succession planning. Listen and respond to team members' needs, maintaining an open-door policy. Manage group and interpersonal conflicts effectively to promote a harmonious workplace. Event Operations Excellence: Ensure optimal use of all function space, exhibit halls, and event spaces. Manage supplier and vendor relationships to maintain quality and consistency. Develop and manage departmental budgets, overseeing short- and long-term forecasting and actual cost reporting for events. Ensure the proper staffing of events to meet business needs. Stay current on event management and design trends, integrating them into the planning process. Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
