The Director of College Human Resources and Faculty Relations serves as a strategic partner to the College(s) Dean(s) and human resources leadership. They partner with University Human Resources on a full scope of human resource activity. The Director of College Human Resources is the lead human resources officer for the assigned college(s) who assists in the identification, development, and implementation of human resource strategic planning and annual goals, human capital management, and human resources policies and procedures. They will be the lead contact with the department HR associates and exercise independent judgment in the performance of designated responsibilities.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated leadership in the area of human capital management; compliance; analytical thinking; creativity and strong decision-making skills.Successful strategies for providing Human Resources support in a multi-stakeholder organization across multiple locations.Risk, control, and compliance operating models in the Human Resources space.Human resources management and practices, including concepts, policies, and procedures, employment practices, labor relations, salary administration, training, and other areas of human resources.Academic personnel processes related to recruitment, appointment, and salary review.Human resources management systems and related business software programs. Knowledge of computer systems and applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software.Organizational policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret, develop, implement, and enforce them effectively.Professional judgment in managing policy compliance and utilizing effective negotiation skills.Analytical, active listening, and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex issues.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Practices and strategies for investigation, negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, mediation, and arbitration.Strategies for identifying and building cross-functional partnerships.Understanding of intersectional diversity, inclusion, belonging, equity, antiracism, and equal opportunity.Research techniques, data mining practices, and people analytics strategies.Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of related work experience OR Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related disciplines OR Juris Doctorate/Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related work experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.Key Responsibilities:Partners closely with peers and stakeholders across the University and Colleges to assess human resources programs, processes, and practices.Define, develop, shape and implement policy and procedures including but not limited to human resource operations, academic human resources, mentoring and counseling, mediation and negotiation, health and wellness, employee relations, organizational and employee development, and performance management.Establish metrics, analyze and leverage data in monitoring human resource across the College(s).Collaborate with the Provost Office and College(s) leadership on faculty affairs matters.Provide professional expertise and remain current with developments in federal, state, local and university laws, regulations, and policies in the HR field affecting higher education employment issues.Plan, assign and review work of staff to meet group objectives. Hire, train, develop and manage staff.Perform other duties as assigned.Work Schedule:
