MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute is one of the largest liver transplant centers in the nation, with more than 100 transplants a year. MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is part of the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute, providing hope and life-restoring care to patients with end-stage organ failure. As one of the highest volume transplant programs in the United States, we have performed more than 7,500 liver, kidney, small bowel, colon, stomach, and multi-organ transplants. We also perform hepatobiliary surgery and offer auto islet cell transplantation for those patients suffering from the pain of chronic pancreatitis.The APP program offers many unique opportunities for professional development including:Advanced Practice Council offering leadership opportunities, educational initiatives, clinical practice groups, mentoring, and community serviceClinical research and quality improvement initiativesSpecialized multi-disciplinary approach to careProtocols to support safe patient careDedicated ICU and IMC level of care for Transplant patients in the New Verstandig PavilionThis position is inpatient only, 12-hour shifts, 13 shifts every 4 weeks, and 24/7 coverage for days, nights, weekends, and select holidays.
