Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Vertex--North America Commercial, US MarketingAbout the Opportunity:Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a two-year experiential program designed to advance lifelong learning and the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates. Critical to the success of the program is our ability to prepare Fellows to meet the ongoing workforce needs in various areas of industry.
Our program gives fellows an opportunity to work with our innovative biopharmaceutical industry partners while collaborating with Northeastern University faculty in professional and career development, service, scholarship, and teaching.

North America Commercial fellowship based in Boston, MA.
About Vertex:Vertex is a global biotechnology company that invests in scientific innovation to create transformative medicines for people with serious diseases. The company has approved medicines that treat the underlying causes of multiple chronic, life-shortening genetic diseases and continues to advance clinical and research programs in these diseases. Vertex also has a robust clinical pipeline of investigational therapies across a range of modalities in other serious diseases.
Responsibilities:The North America Commercial ('NAC') department is responsible for the execution of the commercial strategy across North America. This includes leading patient access and reimbursement for current and future therapies, establishing the product strategy for new products and marketed brands, and ongoing support for both patients and caregivers.
The fellow will engage in a 2 year role on the commercial team to better understand the role of commercial in a pharmaceutical organization.
Fellowship Objectives:The US Marketing/commercial role will support one or more of several workstreams, including: US commercial strategy; brand strategy; tactical execution. This fellowship offers an opportunity to learn how drugs are commercialized and what the requirements are to succeed in a commercial corporate business.
Gain understanding of the focus of the Marketing and related teams and their roles within the broader organizationSupport the team in executing the strategy for the US Brands including collaboration with the team on creating promotional materials for the Sales teamLead strategic and/or tactical projects that are on strategy' and help realize the goal of patients benefiting from Vertex medicines and to meet business objectivesCollaborate cross-functionally to build relationships with stakeholders and develop a deep understanding of the patient treatment journey and key customer insightsThe ideal candidate will possess an inherent sense of urgency, curiosity, and collaboration, and will be a fast learner
Qualifications:Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the United States of America.
Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
