SUMMARY:
The Market Compliance Analyst oversees building and maintaining strong data and analytics to satisfy market compliance goals.
DUTIES:
Collaborates with senior management to identify and enable priority compliance monitoring screens.Develop and design data strategies to quickly assimilate both structured and unstructured data for analysis.Develop, deploy, and validate compliance monitoring solutions, including AI and machine learning-based detection systems.Review and interrogate AI or Machine Learning strategies used for trading.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy machine learning algorithms for compliance monitoring.Support Market Compliance and Legal with Internal Audit and Regulatory inquiries/investigations.Analyze and detect machine learning algorithms to solve false positive alert and other complex business challenges.Implement data anomaly detection systems to identify and mitigate risks.Conduct in-depth statistical analysis and modeling to extract actionable insights.Create compelling data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on data analysis and machine learning model development, or data monitoring system implementation.2+ years of experience in Energy Trading Firm and/or 2 years of experience in compliance role.Experience in a Market Compliance role or an equivalent market compliance role at an exchange, ISO/RTO, or a governmental regulatory oversight body is a plus.Knowledge of the energy markets and products (Natural Gas, Power, Liquefied Natural Gas, Renewables) and familiarity with regulatory bodies like CFTC and FERC is preferred.Ability to transform and analyze large data sets with a focus on the details and interconnected relationships.Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook, Power BI, Python, SQL, Java, C++, Spotfire, Nasdaq SMARTS, Whistler, MS Power Query, AlteryxEDUCATION:
Bachelors or Master's in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analysis, Machine Learning or a related field
