The

Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator

is responsible for working closely with the operations team to develop and execute supply chain strategies that drive and support the PURIS processing plan across three facilities. The Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator brings a strong supply chain & logistics knowledge with the ability to implement solutions to optimize inbound and outbound freight for our PURIS facilities. The Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator is critical for ensuring material is available to meet the needs of both PURIS and PURIS' customer's operations.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

Own and manage daily logistics business systems.Manage and execute pickups and deliveries for multiple sites and commodities (benchmark for 2024 - Seed movement and logistics for inbound and outboundCooperate with Customer service representatives at plant locationsEnsure timely and economic shipments to customersResponsible for tracking, approving, coding all freight invoicesMaintain and build 3PL and trucking company database. (change to Maintain & Build trucking 3PL program which includes expanding truck network on an annual basis)Assist as needed with annual compliance and audit needsHandle all demurrage and freight claim negotiations and tracking on behalf of the companyAble to shift and adapt to changes in scheduling in a timely mannerPreparation of Bill of Ladings, Customs paperwork, and proper documentation to maintain contracts, including proper documentation for organic certification, and DOT complianceTracking and maintenance of ITS Customs database for non-domestic freight movementEnsure Grain Tracs and Teams/Procurement files are updated regularly with accurate data - this is backup and a cross check position/responsibilityEnsure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation across Canada & the USBuild long term solutions for economic and timely shipments for current and future manufacturing facilities.Expand and grow established network of logistics partners for dry-van and bulk trucking companiesActively manage key suppliers, ensuring competitive ratesAssess suppliers' quality programsBuild a competency in rail shipment management. - Benchmark for 2024Requires daily interaction with plant employees, corporate personnel and outside vendors. - This includes direct communication and daily interaction with suppliers, growers, and buyers.Projects a professional company image through in-person and phone interactionWorks to keep freight costs within budget. Continued efforts and work to lower freight costs/unit expenses on a quarterly/annual basisSupport Site specifics duties as requiredCross trained in Logistics/Procurement admin duties and logistics management as backfill during times of absenceCross trained on Third party Logistics pickups / deliveries and tracking for multiple sitesRequirements

Education and Experience:

Knowledge logistics and necessary documentation.2-5 years of logistics scheduling for a perishable ingredient companyKnowledge of business office operations, filing, and administrative clerical operations pertaining to freight documentation and logistics.Able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.Flexibility in assignment of responsibilities.Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations.Able to conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner.Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams/Sharepoint and OneNoteAA Degree or equivalent experienceKnowledge of multiple types of freight, preferred. (Intermodal, Rail, Bulk Hopper, Conestoga & Dry Van, etc.)Experience developing and implementing streamlined shipping among multiple facilities, preferred
