Compensation:

$20-$25/

hour

Seasonal position during the academic school year

Days: Monday - Friday

AM/PM hours: 7;45 am - 8:45 am / 2:45 pm - 4:45 pm

Hours per week: 15

Position Summary:

To transport students to and from school and other sites if needed and to ensure the safety of student passengers while in the vehicle. The driver will ensure the safe operations of the van while in use and ensure all state driving laws are adhered to ensure YWCA Hartford Region is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Responsible for maintaining a valid driver's license with a clean driving history record;Exercises good judgment and extreme caution while driving;Responsible for safe driving and execute extra care while children are on and off the van;Maintains proper discipline and guidance of participants in accordance to YWCA policy and procedures;Maintains proper discipline in both traffic and parking law;Keeps vehicle clean and report any automotive issues;Conducts daily vehicle maintenance and safety checks list and protocols;Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary;Services van with gas, oil, check tire pressure and fills as necessary;Keeps vehicle maintenance log updated daily;Adheres to work schedule and attendances policies;Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid/CPR and all other required trainings;Attends driver training annually to maintain current knowledge of Connecticut Motor Vehicle Education related to transporting school children and emergency procedures;Maintains a neat and professional appearanceOther duties as assigned by the Manager of Kidslink and Compliance and/ or Director, Early Learning and School Age Programs.Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Experience

Ability to make emergency calls;One (1) to two (2) years delivery driving experience required;Must be 21 years of age or older.

Salary Description

$20-$25/hour
