Job Description: The Senior Software Engineer will be a hands-on lead software developer who will be part of an HPE HPC System Management platform team that is responsible for development activities related to upgrade, security, performance, reliability, maintenance, and scale of an existing cloud-based deployment and all related platform components supporting the system management services. Additional responsibilities include participation in the design of the platform components for the next generation of a cloud based HPE HPC System Management platform. This will be followed by participation in the software development of that design. ^^ This role does not offer visa sponsorship The ideal candidate will have: Software development experience on the internals of cloud technologies, container security, authentication & authorization, micro-services architecture and cloud storage technologies. Hands-on experience in scenarios with highly secure and reliable software systems with the ability to perform continuous operation. Exposure and experience in developing automated testing platforms while creating related test cases. Significant software development and security domain expertise in distributed systems and services models REST-based services as well as integration with 3rd party web services, orchestration systems, control, and management planes. Deep expertise in software development languages, toolchains, SDLC and still actively writing production-level code. Motivation and ability to provide self-direction in addition to being able to work with and mentor remote and geographically dispersed team members. Although this position looks like a DevOps position, strong software development experience is a higher priority for an ideal candidate. Experience with multiple Linux operating systems including RHEL/Rocky, SLES and Ubuntu. Requirements Experience as a hands-on technical development leadership role that includes interaction with cross-functional technical leaders, personal code development, and the mentoring of others. Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and micro-services in a production environment. Exposure to deploying and managing services in AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack. Experience working with the design, deployment and creation of secure APIs and providing implementations using a micro-services architecture model. Ability to integrate and perform low-level troubleshooting of 3rd party cloud- based technologies and components inside Kubernetes-based system management platform. Ability to research and lead others in researching new and emerging cloud- based technologies to match design requirements for a future system management platform. Skills in understanding and developing RESTful API services. Project-based experience with programming languages like python or go. A deep understanding of Linux including its architecture and services, and experience developing and deploying applications under Linux. Ability to write or revise technical documentation for new features/functionality to educate users/customers. Ability to write or revise technical design documentation to be used in the development of a new System Management platform. Willingness to participate in triaging issues within the system management platform for internal and external customers. Ability to work well in a cooperative development team with a commitment to sound software engineering principles. Good written and verbal communications skills. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
