Anthropic is seeking a dynamic Commercial Counsel to support commercial and technology transactions at Anthropic. You’ll be an integral part of our efforts to support customers and partners looking to deploy our cutting-edge AI systems for high impact use cases. We’ll rely on you to be a thought leader and execution partner to our business teams as part of our rapidly-growing, close-knit commercial function.
Responsibilities:
Craft, negotiate and close complex commercial transactions with the company’s customers and strategic partners, across a range of industries.
Collaborate with the sales and partnerships teams on the strategy and execution needed to support our high-growth go-to-market efforts.
Actively participate in the Commercial Legal Team’s scaling and building efforts, and enhance our collegial and supportive team culture.
You may be a good fit if you have:
JD; active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred)
6+ years of related legal experience (in-house preferred) with at least 5 years of experience developing and negotiating SaaS agreements and/or technology transactions.
Experience operating in a fast-paced environment, and excel at navigating ambiguity.
Excellent analytical and communication skills that enable you to effectively support cross-functional teams, as well as external customers and partners.
Intense curiosity about novel technology and science, and an aptitude for learning quickly.
A “doer” attitude, and are willing to roll up your sleeves to support your team and the company.
Strong integrity and empathy, and see these as part of what you bring to your work and work environment.
Strong candidates may also have:
Deep substantive knowledge of enterprise software services agreements, and other software licensing and distribution, strategic partnerships, and intellectual property (patent, trade secret, copyright) agreements.
Experience working closely with sales and partnerships teams to scale growing businesses.
A background supporting emerging technologies.
