As technologically sophisticated attacks are increasing, we are looking to grow our team of laser-focused cybersecurity engineers.Overview:The Cybersecurity Engineer I is a consultant role. We are seeking a candidate who has in-depth knowledge of computer networking, computing, and cybersecurity.The Cybersecurity Engineering Consultant Level I will be trained to independently perform the following:Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities within our cloud infrastructure.Analyze and interpret security logs and alerts.Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.Implement security controls and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and data loss prevention solutions, to safeguard our environment.Perform security reviews and audits of cloud service providers to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with client development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure secure coding practices.Stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies through continuous research and professional development.Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and training initiatives within the organization.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fieldAt least 2 years of hands-on experience applying cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and strategies in real-world scenariosFamiliarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), especially in DoD or federal environmentsPractical experience with security scanning tools (e.g., vulnerability scanning, SIEM) and interpreting their resultsUnderstanding of container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)Understanding of microservice architectures and associated security principlesUnderstanding in DevSecOps methodologies and their practical applicationExperience with non-RMF security compliance frameworks, such as the Cyber Survivability Endorsement Implementation Guide (CSEIG)Nice-to-have skills:CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security ProfessionalCompTIA Security+GICSP - Cyber Security ProfessionalGSEC - The GIAC Security EssentialsCloud+Network+PenTest+Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one quicklyKnowledge of secure cloud-native infrastructure and standard operating principlesKnowledge of hybrid environments infrastructure and operating principlesKnowledge with Zero Trust architecture and its practical applicationExperience in defense contracting, especially working with sensitive or classified informationExperience with container technologiesExperience working with microservices architectureExperience with DevSecOps methodologiesExperience with cloud network infrastructureWork Location:
