We are on the hunt for a dedicated and experienced Consulting Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. This position offers you an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that is passionate about delivering top-notch pharmaceutical care in an inpatient setting. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of medications, contributing to the overall success of our healthcare services. This role requires a professional who is competent, meticulous, and possesses a deep understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications.
  2. Maintain accurate patient medication profiles.
  3. Conduct routine inventory checks and manage stock levels of pharmaceutical supplies.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmacy laws and regulations.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  6. Provide medication information and education to patients and healthcare professionals.
  7. Respond to medication-related queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services.
  9. Assist in the training and mentorship of junior pharmacy staff.

Qualifications:

  1. Must hold a Pharmacy Technician Certification and be registered as a Pharmacy Technician.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an inpatient setting is required.
  3. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy operations.
  4. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Proficient in the use of pharmacy management systems and other relevant computer applications.
  7. Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  8. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  10. Flexible with work schedules and able to work on a rotating shift basis.
  11. A strong understanding of pharmaceutical drugs, their uses, and potential side effects.
  12. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  13. Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
  14. A strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
