Salary: Depends on QualificationsLocation : Cape Girardeau, MOJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 202400324Division: Enrollment Management and Student SuccessDepartment: Campus LifeOpening Date: 09/17/2024Position Summary Event Services SpecialistCampus Life and Event ServicesFull-TimeThe Event Services Specialist provides front-line customer service and planning assistance to the University community through event management and logistical coordination of spaces and resources.Primary Responsibilities:Coordinate centralized campus space scheduling utilizing EMS softwareServe as the primary on-campus contact for event set-ups (i.e. conferences, proms)Provide event hosts and event participants in the University Center with basic A/V and teleconference troubleshooting Update and maintain information on all campus facilities and resources to be able to assist program planners to best utilize space and servicesUtilize exemplary customer service skills in working with a variety of user groups (student, faculty, staff, and community)Collaborate with offices and departments across campus to ensure appropriate resources are assigned to programs and events (i.e., Facilities Management, ABM)Assist program planners with network and equipment needs and serve as a liaison to other departments (i.e., Information Technology, Facility Management) Process accounts receivables, payables, purchase requisitions, expense reports, contracts and stipends Required Qualifications High school diploma or GEDDemonstrated experience and understanding of customer serviceExperience with planning and logistical support of meetings, events and/or conferencesDemonstrated ability to multi-task and administer several events and responsibilities simultaneouslyAbility to assist with the set-up and tear-down of rooms, including the ability to lift 20 pounds with or without accommodationKnowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelKnowledge of set-up and maintenance of computer software and equipmentKnowledge of budget management and financial reportingEvidence of accuracy in recording information and attention to detailExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work special events, a few of which could occur on weekends Required Information & DeadlineApplication Information: To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by September 30, 2024.
