Daikin Applied is seeking a talented and eager Buyer/Planner. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of an aggressive cost-improvement program for assigned commodities and performance of supplier audits to monitor the suitability of current suppliers. This individual will take part in negotiation of business unit agreements and working closely with both Design and Manufacturing Engineering to develop demand-based supply systems.

In office, Staunton, VA.
What you will do:Negotiate assigned agreements and prepare required contractsDevelop and implement an aggressive cost-reduction program for assigned commoditiesEnsure timely and thorough communication of required information to other business unit componentsDevelop a material control plan to minimize obsolescence and reduce inventoriesPurchase global commodities as assignedMonitor price trends of raw materials and commodities and recommend sources, timing, and quantity of purchasesMaintain an accurate data base for current and potential suppliers, materials, prices, deliver dates, and inventoriesObtain and analyze quotations, issue purchase orders for direct material, and expedite deliveries and shipmentsManage and execute several complex tasks simultaneouslyEnsure company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of materials and servicesWhat's in it for you:
