Job Details

Responsibilities include rigging, welding, fabrication, and making necessary modifications using the appropriate materials. Millwrights will perform maintenance tasks on any equipment or facilities supported by their skills, ensuring compliance with quality standards. As part of the Mechanical Technician team, they will share work assignments within their group without strict boundaries.

Your duties will include...

Conduct preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on industrial and utility equipment, such as waste heat and co-generation systems.

Dismantle, move, and install machines, equipment, and vessels.

Repair equipment by replacing parts such as bushings, bearings, seals, and gaskets. Diagnose issues and implement corrective actions.

Repair and fabricate components using welding and cutting techniques with various materials, including brass, steel, and plastics.

Operate tools for drilling, anchoring, and installing fasteners in masonry and concrete.

Construct and set up rigging for equipment movement and support other trades with rigging needs.

Test equipment for pressure leaks and inspect components like O-rings and seals.

Install grout and shims to level equipment.

Lubricate new or repaired equipment during assembly.

Participate in safety, lean manufacturing, and operational training such as HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, and Kaizen events.

Assist with preparing labor and material estimates for repairs and installations.

Log hours and tasks in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and utilize Office Suite software when necessary.

Help assign, schedule, and prioritize work orders using maintenance management tools.

Recommend and order parts, tools, and stockroom supplies as needed.

Collaborate with supervisors and other mechanics for troubleshooting and problem resolution, keeping leadership informed of any issues.

Install and repair parts for vibration analysis, document readings, and submit reports as needed.

Write and complete safety permits.

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Completion of a formal millwright apprenticeship program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor or equivalent certification.

3+years Industrial facility experience
