The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs directpatient care under the direct supervision of a RN or LPN/LVN or other licensedmedical professional. The CNA/NA performs a variety of individualized patient careactivities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for thepersonal needs and comforts of patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains patient confidentiality of all clientsPerforms duties within scope of practice, as assigned, in anaccurate and timely mannerAdheres to facility/client policy, procedures and protocolsat all timesAssists doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers withtreatments, procedures, and tests being performed in a variety of patient caresettingsSafeguards the client/patient by observing appropriateinfection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautionsNotifies the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings orconditionsDemonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting theneeds of all facilitiesOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:
Prefer one year experience as a certified nursing assistantwithin the last three yearsGraduate from certified nursing assistant program withsubsequent documentation as a certified nursing assistant per staterequirements with proof of verification as being an active certification and ingood-standingKnowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of clericalfunctionsComplies with all relevant professional standards ofpracticeParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefits
