Job Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Class Actions Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role requires a dedicated professional with exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of class action litigation, from initiation through settlement or trial, and will play a critical role in managing and organizing large volumes of documents, coordinating with clients, and ensuring deadlines are met. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of class action litigation including pre-filing investigation, discovery, certification, settlement, and trial.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and factual investigation.
- Organize and manage case files, including large volumes of documents and data.
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts.
- Calendar and manage all case deadlines, ensuring compliance with court rules and orders.
- Prepare materials for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Assist with trial preparation and in-courtroom trial support.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of class action law and procedural rules.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, with substantial experience in class action litigation.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in calendaring and managing complex litigation deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in drafting a variety of legal documents.
- Familiarity with court rules, procedures, and e-filing systems.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Willingness to continue learning and improving legal skills.
