The Desktop Support Technician (A) provides technical user advice and support to academic and administrative staff for problems and questions related to network communications. The Desktop Support Technician (A) monitors systems and advises senior staff of network application status. Responsibilities: Conducts needs analysis studies and confers with supervisor to determine technology needs. Responsible for installation, configuration and troubleshooting of individual and student lab computers, mobile devices and peripherals. Requires thorough familiarity with Windows and Mac OS as well as Microsoft Office. Provides quality customer service to all clients in a timely and professional manner (in person or remotely). Provides in-person AV support for classrooms and special events. Supports hardware and software connected to instruments. Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent Certification and Licensing: CompTia A Certification preferred but not required. Experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience required; 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines. Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary. Commitment to the Universitys core values. Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment. Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
