Material Handler

JOB SUMMARY:

The Material Handler is responsible for moving and organizing materials within the warehouse. They will receive, store, and distribute materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring that materials are safely handled. The Material Handler will also be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts and assisting with inventory management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Receive incoming materials and compare them to purchase orders and packing lists for accuracyInspect materials for any damage and report any issues to the supervisorProperly store materials in designated locations in the warehousePick and pack materials for outgoing orders, ensuring that they are accurately counted and properly packagedLoad and unload materials onto trucks using forklifts or other warehouse equipmentPerform regular cycle counts and reconciling any discrepanciesAssist with inventory management by updating inventory records and conducting inventory auditsCollaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materialsMaintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards, complying with Food Safety guidelines procedures, rules and regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Operates computer to access, enter and correct informationPicks and palletizes customer PO'sFollow GMP's and food safety procedures in order to produce safe in process productsPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisorRequirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse roleValid standup forklift certificationStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to lift and move heavy objectsBasic computer skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of inventory management practicesBenefits
