The Amazon Community Impact team leads philanthropic initiatives focused on education, housing affordability, food security, disaster relief, and support for employees and teams volunteering in our communities. https://www.aboutamazon.com/impact/communityOur team is looking for a Software Development Engineer excited about working across a variety of software stacks from customer facing UIs to backend data pipelines to deliver solutions that support scaling our community impact around the world.Key job responsibilitiesAs a Software Development Engineer you will work in a small, close-knit team and also partner with engineers across the company to invent, design, and build highly stable and performant software. You will work with your internal customers to balance customer requirements with team requirements and help your team and business evolve. A successful candidate will thrive in a highly collaborative, results-oriented environment that leverages agile planning techniques. We are looking for an engineer who is comfortable working through ambiguity, is a creative problem solver, and who can own delivering features from concept to launch. Some of the team came from jobs in other parts of the Amazon business to build our products and programs - they bring their knowledge of how Amazon works at scale to help us grow. We also have teammates with backgrounds working in education, housing, or for non-profits prior to joining Amazon - they bring their industry knowledge on what communities need, and how Amazon's employees can help make meaningful impact in the places where we live and work.Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience programming with at least one software programming languagePreferred Qualifications- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- Experience with AWS services (S3, DDB, Redshift, CDK, AWS Glue, API Gateway, Lambda, etc.)- Experience building solutions leveraging Typescript and the AWS Cloud Developer Kit.- Experience in full stack development.- Experience building scalable, distributed, front end experiences with modern frameworks such as React.- Experience building and scaling the services and underlying data storage to support RESTful APIsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
