Your Role:We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our growing technology team. As an individual contributor, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our expanding network infrastructure across multiple locations. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with large-scale systems, including overseeing high-profile sporting events.
Essential functions and responsibilities :
Manage and maintain network performance and monitoring across a nationwide system of 500 servers and 1,000 switches.Oversee network switches deployed across large-scale venues such as college football stadiums, ensuring robust network management and oversight.Proactively monitor and improve network performance, implementing monitoring tools and systems.Collaborate with a technical team to support both local and virtual networks, including Azure-based virtual networks, VPNs, and VMs.Provide field and support experience for systems deployed across the country, including the rollout of turnkey systems with networking components.Assist with the implementation of new tools and protocols to enhance network monitoring and performance (e.g., SMTP, networking protocols).Work during evenings and weekends as needed to support high-traffic sporting events, with realistic expectations for rotational coverage (approximately two Saturdays per month).Occasionally work late shifts, especially during the football season, to support game-day network operations. Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy along with the ability to handle pressure sensitive situationsDemonstrated ability to work without direct supervisionBasic knowledge of network connectivity and methodsGood interpersonal and time management skillsMust be detail oriented, with the ability to multitask and handle deadlines and tight timelinesOther desired skills:
7 years of hands-on experience managing and maintaining network systems.Strong experience with traditional local networks and systems management.Experience with Azure (virtual networks, VPNs, VMs) is highly preferred. AWS experience is also acceptable, as it may be transferrable.Proficiency in network monitoring tools and protocols (SMTP, network switches, etc.).Strong understanding of network architecture, including experience with switches and routers (FS.com, Microtic).Experience managing large-scale network systems in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as part of a rotational schedule during peak seasons (college football, March tournaments).
