Our innovative solutions enable customers to discover products that match their needs at market-competitive prices. These solutions are central to Grainger's mission, "We Keep the World Working." You will report to Sr Manager, Applied Machine Learning. The work location is hybrid which requires working in either our Chicago or Lake Forest office 2-3 days per week and you have the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week. This is not a remote position and we are open to partial relocation assistance.You WillDesign, build, deploy, and maintain advanced machine learning models ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and impactfulUtilize a broad array of technologies including NLP, LLMs, and computer vision to enhance Grainger's product discovery experienceWork closely with other ML scientists, engineers, and product managers to integrate your models into Grainger's platformsKeep abreast of the latest developments in machine learning and related technologies, applying cutting-edge research and methodologies to your workWork backward from customer use cases, engender implementation of ML models that solves the use cases at scaleArticulate concepts and generate visual representations of your work and the impact it createsShare your knowledge and expertise with team members, fostering an environment of learning and growth within the Product Discovery teamYou HaveAt least 3 years of industry experience delivering ML solutionsBachelor's degree in computer science, applied math, physics, or a related fieldProficient in Python and SQLExperience with text analytics and natural language processing (NLP)Experience with deep learning and transformer-based modeling methodsExperience deploying ML models using containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with machine learning libraries and tools for developing models and deploying them as API endpointsExperience with Git, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences, both verbally and in writingPreferredMaster's or PhD degreeExperience in computer visionUnderstanding of LLMs, including their development and application in processing and understanding natural languageExperience working in an Agile environment such as in Scrum or KanbanRewards and Benefits:With benefits starting day one, our programs provide choice and flexibility to meet team members' individual needs.
