The SW covers all 5G core network nodes such as but not limited to, AMF/SMF/UPF/AuSF/PCF/UDR/UDM. In this role, you will leverage your 12+ years of expertise by starting with the core network development domain.

This position will report to the Senior Director, Core Networks Communications, H/W & S/W 5G Networks and will work closely with other Engineering and communications Engineers. This position is based in our Dallas, TX office.

What you'll be doing:

Implementation of 5G Core and all 5G core network components for user plane and control planeImplementation of new features for NTN communication in 5G Core, and network interfacesImplementation of new features for eMTC communication in 5G Core and network interfacesCreation of test cases for each node and application of 5G Core and functionalityVerification of AMF/SMF/AuSF/NEF/PCF/UDM/UDR/UPF and other 5G network core functionality and using test equipment, real and/or simulated gNB and UEs.Debugging of SW implementation errorsDocumentation of implemented workIntegration of 5G Core control and user plane with gNBIntegration of 5G Core with BSS/OSS/EMS systemsEffort estimation of implementation of Core development tasksReporting on progress of SW implementationHandling of customer request related to 5G CoreTeam player and agile SW development practicesFamiliar with SDR and SoC architecturesWhat you bring to the role:

MSc/MEng in Electrical/Communications Engineering or equivalent12+ year of experiences in programming in C/C++ for real-time and near real-time applicationsSignificant experience as an embedded C/C++ software developerWorking knowledge of MatlabWorking knowledge of network virtualization and microservices based architectureWorking knowledge of Perl/Python scripting languageAbility to read and understand 3GPP rel 15/16 all relevant standards for our 5G CoreAbility to derive algorithms and /or implementation out of 3GPP rel 15/16 all relevant standards for our 5G CoreAbility to develop and analyze algorithms by means of Matlab and/or C language or C++Ability to analyze and develop standard 5G Core interfaces with low latency,Ability to analyze and develop 5G Core features in SW based on abstract I/F descriptionAbility to implement SW test cases suitable for verifying the to be implemented 5G featureAbility to generate test cases and verification metrics for 5G Core and execute unit/functional/regression test cases together with QA departmentUnderstand the constraints of Real Time SWAbility to write Make filesAbility to write scripts in languages such as Perl or PythonAbility to work with Teamcity or equivalent build serverAbility to work with JIRA or equivalent Issue Tracking SystemAbility to handle SW within a gitlab repositoryAbility to document project results within a Confluence or equivalent Wiki projectAbility to understand and work according company specific ISO-9001 implementationAbility to understand and work according SCRUM/Continuous Integration working methodsDo Customer project reporting to internal project team and/or CA management
