Oracle DBA (Irving, TX)

Job Description:
Responsible for supporting Oracle databases daily BAU operations which includes availability, Capacity management, Monitoring and Alerting, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Responsible to Database hygiene, Process improvement, Standardizations, Major Incident management, automation and SRE responsibilities
Perform escalations including callouts to senior support teams, vendors, application owners.
Contribute to knowledge base / standard process library with feedback and updates as needed.
Immediately alert supervisor of any perceived risk, or improperly executed task whether performed by individual or witnessed/discovered.
Attend required regulatory training sessions.
Attend training and become proficient in new acquired technologies and solutions.
Manage activities ensuring adherence to Information Security Policy, CITMP policy and corporate standards
Identifies and proactively resolves issues that could impact system performance, reliability, and usability.
Collaborate with infrastructure and technology partners, and external service providers
Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases. The DBA works closely with system administration staff
Plans and implements backup and recovery of the database including DR and Volume Testing activities.
Control migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.
Implements and enforces security for all of Databases supported
Performs database re-organization as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
Perform periodic reviews on the Database Configuration, Capacity, Performance, Software Currency,
Provides support for application during testing, release, upgrade, and migration activities
Execute unplanned COB Failover
Performs Decommission of databases as per application request
Implement and rollout new database tools for monitoring, release management and configuration management
OS VTM Patching - DB Checkout Validation
Plan and Execute Database Upgrade, VTM Patching & Other Database Related Implementations for restricted or complex environments
Perform Root Cause & Impact Analysis for Major Incidents and attend corresponding Incident calls
Manage vendor cases raised by Level 2 support
Prepare support documentation
Oracle Qualifications: - Sector L3 DBA Support
Experience with an organization with a key reliance on 24x7 reliability on its database
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Possess excellent time management skills: (keeping deadlines, meeting goals, multitasking, coordinating tasks)
Possess excellent organizational skills: (following direction, analysis, assessment, evaluation, documentation, reporting, attention to detail
Solid understanding of ITIL and LEAN operating model.
Must be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
Solid understanding of Operating Systems like Windows, RedHat Linux and Cloud Technologies
Strong hands-on experience in Database Technologies
Oracle - ORACLE in a production RAC (ASM) environment, Data Guard, Data Replication Configuration using Golden Gate
Infrastructure development experience on Ansible Chef/Puppet or related technologies with Unix, Windows PowerShell, SQL scripting knowledge
Background or experience on Database Caching Technologies such as REDDIS, Couchbase or Database Cloud Technologies (AWS, Google, Azure) would be an advantage
