Embark on a transformative journey as a Full Stack Developer. At Barclays, innovation isn’t just encouraged; it’s expected. In this role, you will be accountable for the design, development, and implementation of Technology Platforms to a very high level of quality and standards. In this role, you will also be a key contributor for Technical Design and Development for new and existing systems within the portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to be designing, programming and unit testing to develop and code scripts for automation testing.

To be successful as a Full Stack Developer, you should have experience with:

Experience in designing & developing scalable enterprise applications using Java API’s and CI/CD.

Ability to develop Web based applications using Java 11 or above, Java script, Hibernate, Angular, html, jQuery, Rest and SOAP, Spring technologies.

Experience Messaging Technologies including AMQ, Kafka, Test frameworks, Junit, Mockito, cucumber and Cloud technologies including AWS, Openshift, Kubernetes.

Familiarity with API design with API security using Oauth and OpenID CICD technologies including GIT, Jenkins, Gradle, Sonar, and Maven & DB technologies.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

Banking /Credit card experience is a plus

Quick to comprehend business needs and requirement gathering

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to quickly changing technologies

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.

Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.

Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
