Job Overview:
The SAP BO to Power BI Migration Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing the migration of reports, dashboards, and analytics from SAP BusinessObjects to Power BI. This role requires a deep understanding of both SAP BO and Power BI, as well as strong data modeling and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:Migration Planning:
Develop a detailed migration plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.Data Analysis & Mapping:
Analyze existing SAP BO reports and data structures, and map them to Power BI datasets and models.Report Conversion:
Recreate existing SAP BO reports in Power BI, ensuring all functionality and data accuracy are preserved.Dashboard Design:
Design and build interactive Power BI dashboards that meet the business requirements and provide actionable insights.Data Integration:
Integrate Power BI with various data sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance.Testing & Validation:
Conduct rigorous testing to validate the accuracy and performance of the migrated reports and dashboards.Training & Support:
Provide training and support to end-users on the new Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring a smooth transition.Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation of the migration process, including data mappings, report conversion steps, and user guides.Collaboration:
Work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and IT to ensure the successful completion of the migration project.Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and tools during and after the migration.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience with SAP BusinessObjects.Minimum of 8 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI.Proven experience in migrating reports and dashboards from SAP BO to Power BI.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SAP BO and Power BI.Strong SQL and data modeling skills.Experience with ETL processes and tools.Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Project management experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in SAP BusinessObjects and/or Power BI.
Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or SSRS.
Familiarity with cloud-based BI solutions and services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
