Company Overview
Network Installation Specialist, Senior will be assigned responsibilities for performing installation of telecommunications equipment and components and identifying and resolving problems related to such systems. No supervision is required on small to mid-sized upgrades and installation efforts, and Level 1 technicians should be independently deployable to perform technical assignments successfully.Responsibilities
Network Installation Specislist, Senior can expect to be placed on project assignments where any combination of the following tasking could be expected:Infrastructure installation and de-installation
RacksIronwork (ladder rack, subfloor infrastructure)Cable management
Fiber & copper management systems (i.e. Panduit raceway, Fiber Management Systems (FMS))DC Power cable (determining path, wax cord lacing)
Cable Terminations, cleaning and testing
RJ45Coaxial/BNCWire wrapFiber Optic Cable (light levels, scoping)

Documentation Responsibilities
Use of Microsoft Office suite of products for:Requirements review and comprehensionRedlining
Required Experience/Qualifications
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of one to three years of exposure/experience regarding the construction, maintenance, or repair of various types of telecommunications or electronics equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting completion of an accredited vocational or technical curriculum in telecommunications or a related discipline for some of the required experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include comprehensive knowledge of several types of common communications installations.Must possess theoretical and hands-on knowledge of and experience with various network devices (i.e. routers, switches, etc.) from multiple manufacturers and possess the skill and expertise necessary to install these network devices per the DISN Implementation Standards.Level 1 Network Installation Technician employees should possess the ability to perform the following functions utilizing their acquired understanding of proper methods and practicesStrong business communications skills including verbal, written, and graphic should be well developed, as should exposure to a customer service environment where discretion and professional demeanor are commonplacePreferred Experience/Qualifications
Government network systems experienceCable running, splicing, and connector exposurePossession of a basic telecommunications installation tool kitSpecial Requirements/Security Clearance
Ability to obtain a "Secret" security clearanceWillingness to travel 70% - 80% of the time individually or with other team members to meet installation assignment requirementsPhysical Demands
Ability to set up and ascend/descend ladders as necessary to reach overhead cabling and components undergoing installation or deinstallationAbility to get down under sub-flooring as required to reach components and cablingAbility to lift at least 50 lbs
