A Brief OverviewThe Data & Analytics (DnA) team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provides various services including engineering, analytics, applied data science, data literacy, and data trust for the enterprise.

The Lead Analytics Engineer will directly manage and lead a small team of analytics engineers who build and support the data analytics platform. The mission of the analytics engineering team is to ingest, manage, and transform the enterprise's data assets into actionable insights which would help to improve various functions of healthcare delivery system. In partnership with an Analytics Engineering Manager, this position will be responsible for leading a team of Data/Analytics Engineers to build and support the data analytics platform. This role will be responsible for contributing to data architecture to help build sustainable data infrastructure (data models/data content) to improve self-service analytics capabilities and data insights. This role will be responsible for establishing standards and best practices for developing and maintaining data models, ELT pipelines and analytics artifacts.

The ideal candidate is experienced with building data pipelines in code (primarily SQL) and deploying changes using modern CI / CD processes to ensure optimal delivery of the service to keep high standards of experience for the end users as well as analysts. The right candidate will be a process fanatic and is excited by the prospect of re-designing our company's data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.This position has on-site expectations of at least once per month in our Philadelphia offices as needed.

PreferredExperience QualificationsAt least six (6) years Data Warehousing Platforms/tools (including ETL/ELT solutions)(OR) Database administration RequiredAt least ten (10) years Data Warehousing Platforms/tools (including ETL/ELT solutions)(OR) Database administration PreferredAt least one (1) year working with at least one of the public cloud platforms such AWS/Azure/GCP. PreferredSkills and AbilitiesProven knowledge of building and maintaining data models.Experience with BI/Visualization toolsKnowledge of version control systems such as Git.Experience utilizing Agile methodologyKnowledge of ITIL processesStrong communication, project management and organizational skillsBasic understanding of Operating systems, networking concepts and application architecture patternsAbility to code with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, groovy etc.,Knowledge of big data toolset: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, sqoop etc.Basic knowledge of data integration tools: dbt, Informatica, MS Integration Services etc.Knowledge of stream-processing systems: AWS Kinesis, Spark-Streaming, etc.Basic understanding of ways to consume and build APIsHealthcare domain experience (Preferred proficiency)
