We are currently bidding on a contract providing support to the Picatinny NEC in improving the functionality of the overall delivery of Information Technology Services (ITS) and Administrative Telephone Services (ATS) on Picatinny Arsenal.

This opportunity is contingent upon a successful contract award to Oneida Technical Solutions.

Job Summary:

The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization's IT network systems. The Senior Network Administrator will work closely with other IT professionals to manage network security, troubleshoot issues, and provide strategic planning for future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design and Implementation:

Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN).

Configure and install network hardware and software.

Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances.

System Administration:

Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.

Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment, and devices.

Perform regular security monitoring to identify potential intrusions.

Maintain system backups and disaster recovery operations.

Network Security:

Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and vulnerabilities.

Conduct regular audits of network security, including firewall settings and network access control.

Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to respond to and mitigate network security incidents.

Troubleshooting and Support:

Troubleshoot network issues and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems.

Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users.

Manage and resolve escalated service tickets related to network performance and availability.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, IP address schemes, and configuration details.

Prepare reports on network performance, system uptime, and security incidents.

Document solutions to complex network issues and update knowledge bases.

Strategic Planning:

Analyze network needs and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and security.

Plan for and implement upgrades, expansions, and new technology deployments.

Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and industry trends.

Collaboration:

Work closely with system administrators, cybersecurity professionals, and other IT staff to ensure seamless operations.

Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network-related services and support.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network administration or systems administration.

Proven experience with network design and implementation.

Strong knowledge of network protocols, security, and infrastructure.

Skills:

Expertise in Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking technologies.

Proficiency in firewall configurations, VPNs, and network security.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or CISSP are highly desirable.

MUST have Active Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a government or DoD environment.

Knowledge of DCWF 441 standards and practices.

Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, or other cybersecurity frameworks.
