About the Role We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to produce scalable software solutions within the Workplace engineering team. You will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As an engineer, you should be comfortable with back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. You should have solid software engineering experience in building commercial-grade web-based applications and scalable cloud-centric APIs (Applications and programming interfaces). A successful candidate will be able to play an active role in managing the prioritization of work to meet project goals. The position is based in our Chicago office. Job Responsibilities Work with development teams and product managers to build software Design & develop client-side and server-side architecture Write scalable APIs using Java based technologies (Java 8+, Java Spring Boot) Develop software with the focus on security, availability, and scalability Write technical documentation Requirements Proven experience as a full-stack developer or similar role 5-7 years' experience in back-end languages (Java) Familiarity with any databases technologies - Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL Experience in AWS (Amazon Web Services) based environment building serverless applications is a plus Excellent communication and teamwork skills Great attention to detail and organizational skills Experience within the financial services industry is desirable 002_MstarAssocLLC Morningstar Investment Management LLC Legal Entity
