Fantastic hybrid opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer for a top ranked firm to be based out of their Roseland, NJ office.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and configuration of the firm's IT infrastructure including but not limited to servers, cloud services and network connectivity. Responds to system alerts to troubleshoot and correct issues and maintain availability of all essential systems. Work with application teams to deploy production systems and ensure ongoing maintenance and adherence to the firm's operational policies.
What You'll Do:
Maintain the firm's IT infrastructure including network switches and routers and other appliances at all the firm's locationsCreate and implement scalable Cisco networks according to Firm specificationsResolve technical issues with networks, hardware, and softwareConfigure and maintain core network services such as DNS and DHCPRespond to security events and configure security policies as neededRespond to system alerts as required in order to maintain uptime and system performanceWork with other groups in IT to respond to Help Desk incidents as neededCoordinate with hosted data center personnel to install new hardware and provide for guest access as neededDeploy, maintain and configure the firm's VPN remote access systemRack/stack equipment as neededConfigure and deploy Cisco UCS serversWork with the Manager of Information Security to ensure systems are configured to meet the firm's security policiesWork with vendors to architect and deploy new systems as needed to support the firm's ongoing and future projectsAdditional tasks as needed based on guidance from the Infrastructure Team ManagerWhat You'll Bring:
Minimum 3 years' experience administering a Microsoft Active Directory environmentExperience configuring core Windows services (DHCP, DNS, etc)Experience with troubleshooting and administering Cisco-based infrastructure, including WiFi, VLAN changes, Routing (BGP) and basic TCP/IP configurationExperience with storage engineering, wide-area networking, and network virtualizationExperience using server and network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds or equivalent productsExperience working in an Azure AD hybrid environmentExperience working with VMWare ESXiExperience with NAS and SAN storageAvailability one weekend per month to deploy and monitor server patchesAbility to identify, deploy, and manage complex networking systemsSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Flexibility responding to issues affecting the infrastructure as they occurStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong documentation skillsAutomate tasks and monitor their effectivenessProblem solving and analytical skillsAbility to interact with all levels of the firm's hierarchy in a professional, timely mannerAbility to learn new technologies and stay informed on emerging IT trendsDetailed knowledge of Cisco networking systemsNetwork performance tuningBS degree or equivalent experience and IT certifications - CCNP, VCP a Plus
