Fantastic hybrid opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer for a top ranked firm to be based out of their Roseland, NJ office.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and configuration of the firm's IT infrastructure including but not limited to servers, cloud services and network connectivity. Responds to system alerts to troubleshoot and correct issues and maintain availability of all essential systems. Work with application teams to deploy production systems and ensure ongoing maintenance and adherence to the firm's operational policies.
What You'll Do:
Maintain the firm's IT infrastructure including network switches and routers and other appliances at all the firm's locations Create and implement scalable Cisco networks according to Firm specifications Resolve technical issues with networks, hardware, and software Configure and maintain core network services such as DNS and DHCP Respond to security events and configure security policies as needed Respond to system alerts as required in order to maintain uptime and system performance Work with other groups in IT to respond to Help Desk incidents as needed Coordinate with hosted data center personnel to install new hardware and provide for guest access as needed Deploy, maintain and configure the firm's VPN remote access system Rack/stack equipment as needed Configure and deploy Cisco UCS servers Work with the Manager of Information Security to ensure systems are configured to meet the firm's security policies Work with vendors to architect and deploy new systems as needed to support the firm's ongoing and future projects Additional tasks as needed based on guidance from the Infrastructure Team Manager What You'll Bring:
Minimum 3 years' experience administering a Microsoft Active Directory environment Experience configuring core Windows services (DHCP, DNS, etc) Experience with troubleshooting and administering Cisco-based infrastructure, including WiFi, VLAN changes, Routing (BGP) and basic TCP/IP configuration Experience with storage engineering, wide-area networking, and network virtualization Experience using server and network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds or equivalent products Experience working in an Azure AD hybrid environment Experience working with VMWare ESXi Experience with NAS and SAN storage Availability one weekend per month to deploy and monitor server patches Ability to identify, deploy, and manage complex networking systems Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Flexibility responding to issues affecting the infrastructure as they occur Strong written and oral communication skills Strong documentation skills Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness Problem solving and analytical skills Ability to interact with all levels of the firm's hierarchy in a professional, timely manner Ability to learn new technologies and stay informed on emerging IT trends Detailed knowledge of Cisco networking systems Network performance tuning BS degree or equivalent experience and IT certifications - CCNP, VCP a Plus
