This Position:

We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and automation processes to support our software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, system administration, and cloud technologies, with a passion for streamlining operations and improving efficiency.

The Expectation:

No-Touch DevOps Pipeline: Design, build, and maintain a fully automated CI/CD pipeline to facilitate seamless code deployment from development to production environments.Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure resources in AWS.Environment Creation and Deployment: Develop and implement automated processes for rapid creation and deployment of new environments (QA, developer, staging, demo, production) using IaC principles.Deployment Strategies: Build and manage deployment pipelines that support red-black/red-green deployment strategies to minimize downtime and ensure high availability during updates.AWS Native Tooling: Utilize AWS native tools (e.g., CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM, Lambda, Aurora, SNS, SQS, EventBridge) to build scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.Resilient Solutions: Design and implement resilient infrastructure solutions that ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities.Zero-Trust Security: Implement zero-trust security models to protect systems and data, ensuring that every access request is authenticated and authorized.Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, ELK stack) to ensure the health, performance, and security of services, and troubleshoot issues proactively.Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency.Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with development, QA, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment on DevOps practices and standards.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and best practices, and share knowledge and expertise with team members through documentation, presentations, and training sessions.The successful ROLE NAME will have:

Experience & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.3+ years of experience in DevOps, system administration, software engineering, or related roles, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.Strong understanding of AWS cloud computing concepts and services, with hands-on experience using AWS tools and services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Lambda).Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and version control systems (e.g., Github), and experience managing code repositories, branching strategies, and code review processes.Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles, with experience configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure and security groups in AWS environments.Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools and practices, such as CloudWatch and the ELK stack, and experience setting up monitoring dashboards, alerts, and automated responses.Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation frameworks, with experience developing automation scripts, tools, and infrastructure as code templates.Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Success Metrics:

Achieve infrastructure uptime and availability through the implementation of resilient and fault-tolerant solutions over a 12-month period.Reduce deployment time within the first six months by optimizing and automating CI/CD pipelines.Implement zero-trust security measures that result in zero security breaches and unauthorized access incidents over a 12-month periodWork Location and Arrangement:

gWorks is a hybrid work environment, and preference will be given to candidates who are local to the Omaha, Nebraska area. However, highly qualified candidates who reside outside of the local area and are able to work remotely will also be considered.

For Omaha-Based Candidates: A hybrid work model, balancing remote work with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays.For Remote Candidates: Full support for remote work from any US location.

Compensation range: 90,000- 110,000
