We build systems and technology to enable teams across Amazon to personalize every customer interaction and optimize every aspect of these interactions using our proven techniques.As a member of the Product Intelligence team within Personalization, you will play a key role in establishing the next-generation product understanding solution, the 'Product Intelligence Graph'. Our technical strategy involves integrating product attributes, customer behavior, world knowledge, and contextual data by leveraging advanced machine learning models and LLMs. Our solution will address use cases for inventory management, optimizing bundles, and providing real-time, context-aware recommendations. With an API-first framework, teams across Amazon will access and build on this product understanding, enhancing initiatives like Search, Personalization, and Advertising to deliver a more seamless and intuitive shopping experience. You will take academic research from theory to production implementation, overcoming performance, scalability, and resiliency challenges. You should enjoy optimization through rapid experimentation, uphold high standards, and possess the ability to implement solutions in the face of ambiguity. Experience in specialized areas such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Text Mining, Search, LLMs, or Recommendation Systems is highly desirable.Key job responsibilities- Design and develop robust and scalable machine learning systems that process large volumes of data- Applying the latest in machine learning research to solving very large scale problems- Influence decisions in choosing the right technology to build components.- Join a great group of motivated people and work with them to solve interesting and useful problems in a fun, collaborative environment.Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience programming with at least one software programming languagePreferred Qualifications- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers- Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processingAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
