Software Engineer

to join our team. We are looking for a self-starter with software engineering experience who enjoys working within a team to solve complex problems and develop cutting-edge products across the BigBear.ai portfolio. Work based in Reston, VA and may offer remote flexibility for local candidates.

What you will do

Collaborate effectively as part of cross-functional engineering team and clearly communicate with stakeholders through virtual/in-person technical exchange meetings, planning sessions, and technical demonstrationsContribute to a full-stack geospatial application that uses AI/ML to enhance findingsContribute to program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentationAnalyze, design, implement, integrate, and test multiple applicationsDesign software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manage their implementationEstimate software development schedule within an Agile environmentFormulate and define specifications for software applications or modify and maintain existing applications using engineering releases and utilitiesWhat you need to have

US Citizenship with a TS/SCI clearanceBachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science, with 4+ years of experience or 8+ years of experience in private or government environments in software engineering / systems development in place of education.Experience in Python, TypeScript, and ReactExperience or familiarity with developing containerized software applicationsExperience in or familiarity with DevOps or DevSecOps as well as CI/CD pipelinesBroad knowledge of relational and non-relational databasesExperience working in an Agile team environmentExperience with collaboration, development tracking, and version control systems such as Confluence, Jira, and GitWhat we'd like you to have

Experience with container runtime environments such as Docker and container-orchestration systems such as KubernetesDesign and development in Relational (PostgreSQL), Document Oriented (Elasticsearch), and Graph (Neo4j) databasesExperience developing within a Linux environmentAbout BigBear.ai
