Come share your journey with us in a great environment that cares, strives for continuous improvement while staying ahead of our business competition JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Cloud Architect of Infrastructure Security Automation to support our worldwide software engineering solutions on AWS, Azure and Ali cloud. This technical leader will serve as architect to design custom solutions for cloud infrastructure security automation. This leader will build a strong partnership with the Application Engineering and Global Information Security teams to provide in-depth automation solutions that reduce the dependencies on infrastructure through the enablement of self-service, infrastructure as code, and pattern based deployment utilizing cloud native and open source technologies. The Architect must be well versed in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated pattern based deployments (Platinum, Gold, Silver, etc.) and self-service through different channels that will enable the application teams to move at the speed of their choosing. This technical leader must have a solid understanding of cloud security principals and the ability to automate Marriott's security guardrails. This is a critical role for the company as we transform the core platforms and digital applications on modern PaaS and SaaS based cloud infrastructure. This leader will have deep hands-on technical expertise and is not afraid of rolling up the sleeves to get into code and architecture to support his/her team if needed. The leader must practice radical candor while maintaining the emotional intelligence to approach sensitive topics and critique for the growth and improvement of the Marriott team. CANDIDATE PROFILE Required Experience and Education: Undergraduate degree in computer science/related field or equivalent experience, education, certifications 8+ years of progressive technology experience with a blend of technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset including: 5+ years in technical and architectural leadership on cloud platform, automation, DevSecOps, software and cloud architecture experience, including enterprise, multi-tenant, and scalable solutions including 2+ years' experience with major cloud hosting service providers, with focus on AWS 4+ years' experience with high-availability and disaster recovery implementations through CICD 5+ years of technology leadership experience; demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, coach, and develop individual contributors Proven hands-on expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code and Policy-as-Code technologies Strong automation and problem-solving skills and ability to carry tasks and projects to completion Required Attributes The ideal candidate will have the ability to: Develop cloud strategy for deploying mission-critical and high-available custom software solutions in alignment with the needs of Marriott business Work closely with the Information Security teams to design and implement preventative security guardrails for cloud infrastructure Effectively align engineering practices with organizational strategy to deliver business results Lead the development of resilient, high-performing platforms that process significant data loads while adhering to data privacy and security practices Propose and implement a best-in-class, scalable, enterprise automation solutions across PaaS and SaaS. Identifies automation opportunities to improve DevOps operations Designs, develops and implements a standard service catalog and multi-cloud management platform to standardize self-service offerings for application teams across AWS, Azure and Ali Clouds. Identifies new automation opportunities to improve DevSecOps operations Considers the entire ecosystem while making decisions, from technical implications to business needs, time to market, engineering trade-offs, and more Managing Projects and Priorities Functions as a strategic senior technical expert within the department. Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work. Champions leaders' vision for product and service delivery. Keeps up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to job. Performs other reasonable duties as required for this position The salary range for this position is $113,850 to $216,315 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.
