A prominent AISC Certified structural steel fabricator in the Southwest is seeking a talented and motivated Steel Estimator to join their expanding team. As an estimator, you'll be responsible for estimating fabricated structural steel. This Estimating position comes with a very competitive salary and great benefits.
Steel Estimator PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Quantitative take-offs.Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specificationsDetermine labor and equipment costsPrepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricingUnderstand project logistics and project schedule for Steel industry standardsUnderstand all bid documents and assess project risksReview quotes and estimates with the project teamPrepare estimates and different levels of completion (conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.)Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineersServe as company interface between owner & architectSteel Estimator QUALIFICATIONS :
2+ years of structural and miscellaneous steel estimating experienceDetailing experience not required but a bonus.Advanced computer skills with estimating softwareExtensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principlesUnderstand aspects of structural steel and miscellaneous metal concepts.
