Description
Human Resources works smartly to ensure the business has the right talent, focused on the right priorities, at the right time. This position is an onsite role and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, including recruiting new employees, interviewing, onboarding, administering benefits/leaves, processing terminations paperwork, preparing compensation packages with company policies set out by law, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
Job Duties• Conducts recruiting activities for positions including but not limited to preparation of advertisements; screens applications; selects and/or designs and administers employment or promotion tests and selection procedures; prepares/conducts interviews; conducts reference and background checks; performs additional follow-up in accordance with necessary on-boarding.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable State and Federal human resource laws and regulations involving employment and safety in the workplace as well as areas of labor law including but not limited to, ADA, FMLA, EOE, HIPPA, FLSA, harassment and discrimination by training, managing, investigating and resolving related issues.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• Accomplishes HR objectives by orienting, training, coaching, counseling, communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, adhering to policies and procedures.
• Responsible for strategic communications for our team members involving verbally, visual, social media, and company text.
• Provide advice and information to managers, staff, and employees regarding human resource issues.
• Perform personnel audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Attends seminars and continuing education classes to enhance customer service, administrative and technical skills.
• Oversee the proper maintenance of personnel records and information and manage access to personnel files.
• Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Conduct Orientation and Training as Needed.
• Assist and Conduct pre-hire and post-hire background checks, professional license, verifications, and other required screening checks ensuring they are completed within timelines.
• Conduct workplace investigations, as needed.
• Provide objective feedback and solution-focused recommendations in resolving conflict and employee relations matters.
• Serve as a payroll processor.
• Maintain positive employee relations with staff and management.
• Performs all other duties as assigned and requested.
Requirements
• Must communicate professionally and positively with employees, customers, and all levels of management.
• 2 years of Human Resources experience
• Sound judgment in decision-making and establishing priorities.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledgeable understanding of local, state, and federal employment law
• Proficient computer skills, with additional experience in Microsoft Office programs and HRIS systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and teaching skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be capable of working within a team environment.
• Individuals must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the shop floor, which includes head protection, hearing protection; safety eye protection, gloves, sleeves and steel-toed safety shoes, high visibility vest.
