The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer is a highly skilled and experienced customer-focused technical professional who provides in-depth technical information and specific design/implementation guidance to Red Rivers customers. They provide architectural guidance for customers across the Red River product portfolio, including products and services from OEM partners. The candidate works with Design Architects, and Solution Engineering peers, to validate the best solution to address customer requirements. The candidate will assist in development and identifying modernization initiatives and exploring options to reduce costs or expedite schedules. The candidate will examine solutions for software-enabled business function modernization, infrastructure hosting services, enterprise managed services, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), data support at the tactical edge, and optimization of commercial cloud-hosted systems. The role includes reviewing public, government, and private literature, and consulting experts from various sectors. The candidate will deliver solution options to help develop an enterprise technological roadmap and provide insights on industry trends and standards. Analysis will also be conducted to ensure solutions meet technical and operational needs as per DoD policies. Additionally, the candidate will identify solutions for cloud computing and on-premises operations while addressing risks related to data center design, equipment failure, environmental issues, networking, security, and management. They will ensure high system reliability and availability for mission owners. Evaluating emerging technologies and offering guidance on service development and system integration is also part of the responsibilities. The candidate will have experience in presenting solution options, findings, point papers, Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), or whitepapers (CDRL A00A). Duties: Candidate will research, analyze, and translate changes, updates, and new technology into qualitative and quantitative technical requirements Assist in providing data to plan for cost, schedule and personnel requirements of technology projects. Provide and evaluate site survey and analysis, identification of requirements, statement of existing systems/equipment/technologies, considerations and comparisons of candidate solutions. Provide recommendations, scheduling and implementation schedule, work breakdown structures, logistics support, and estimated costs. Create/Manage/Update Software Development Plan (SDP) for solutions provided. Provide operations support for systems in place today and proposed. This includes security, planning, management, Configuration management activities. Required Experience/Certifications: Masters or bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline like engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems) is required; along with an Agile Developer certification or a Certified Scrum Developer certification. Ten years of professional experience with a Masters degree or 14 years with a Bachelor's degree in research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs is also necessary. This may include database maintenance within an application area. Experience applying programming principles in either a professional or academic setting and significant experience using modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in either context. Proven experience with the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including evaluation, planning, design, engineering, testing, documentation, and integration is required to support the modernization of applications and hosting solutions like software development, low/no-code platforms, physical/virtual servers, containerization, serverless computing, and PaaS/SaaS. The contractor must offer innovative engineering solutions prioritizing automation and cloud services, while ensuring robust cybersecurity compliance. Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification. Three (3) years of technical experience in support of systems engineering or systems administration within an enterprise hosting environment in the cloud in support of multiple interconnected systems and enterprise managed services. Experience may be achieved simultaneously. Individual shall have notable experience supervising and/or mentoring of lesser experienced personnel. At least one (1) of the following: CompTIA Security or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP). At least one (1) of the following: IEEE CS Software Development Professional or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification such as: Microsoft role-based certifications, Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP) role-based certifications, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Citrix Certified Administrator Cloud certifications such as AWS Architect, Developer, and SysOps Professional, Azure or other certifications Desired Skills: Desired certifications in Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level II or III (position-based).
