JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking to hire a Business Analyst to support our Strategy Tagging and Performance Attribution Platforms for mutual funds, hedge funds and client accounts. The role will be responsible for direct user support by leading engagement with portfolio managers and trading assistants. You will also work closely with our development and QA teams in creating specifications for new features and enhancements, as well as offering ongoing guidance and training to new and existing staff in developing plans and implementing project objectives.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide timely support pertaining to risk measures and performance attributionLeverage knowledge of various risk measures such as duration, spread and currency risk, to conduct performance attribution calculationsPartner with PIMCO upstream systems and teams such as Pricing, Index Solution, Trading Applications and ComplianceCreate specifications for developers and test outcomes of code productionConceptualize new ideas on how to bring to bear existing PIMCO data to create more accurate performance attribution resultsCommunicate clearly to PIMCO colleagues on the requirements needed for strategy tagging and performance attribution system improvements
REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or Computer Science related subject with 5+ years of experience in financial services / investment management industryKnowledge of various asset management and hedge fund investment strategies, financial instruments, corresponding characteristics, and portfolio construction techniquesExposure to buy side performance attribution/evaluation and risk management, preferredExperience with risk and performance software systems such as Aladdin, Axioma and FactSet, preferredProficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience in Python and SQLAdvancement in professional designations such as CFA, preferredCapable of working in a geographically diverse environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills - able to effectively engage with PMs and other investment professionalsHighly organized and proactive - able to recognize potential improvements or impending problems and independently resolvePIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance. Salary Range: $ 110,000.00 - $ 148,000.00
