Informatics Project Manager, Development Sciences Informatics

We are seeking a talented and experienced project manager to contribute to and drive cross-functional projects in Development Sciences Informatics (DSI). Development Sciences is a translational science organization that plays a critical role in Genentech Research and Early Development as well as late stage development of our products at Roche. DSI is accountable for leading the strategy and execution around data lifecycle management, data standards, analytics infrastructure, ongoing data operations and informatics systems.

Major Responsibilities :

The Informatics Project Manager will play a role in supporting one or more DSI initiatives as part of the Portfolio and Operations Management (P&OM) team. This position drives project delivery in areas of data management and engineering, analytics platforms and tools, and scientific software development. The Informatics Project Manager will be a key enabler on the project team to help ensure successful delivery and adoption of our solutions. The Informatics Project Manager will partner with project and DSI leadership as well as engage diverse stakeholder groups across gRED and the Roche enterprise.

Duties include:

        ÂManage multiple large, mission-critical informatics efforts focused on data, workflow or reference systems, data management, analytics and/or engineering.Partner with product owners to drive all phases of product development including visioning, business analysis, strategic planning, resourcing, software development, change management, user engagement, communication, data migration, testing, training, etc.Help to define project management best practices for a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment focused on delivering value to scientific stakeholders. Proactively address integration points and interdependencies, identify and escalate potential bottlenecks and risks early, and work with the project team to mitigate delays and interruptionsEffectively communicate and engage with both scientific and technical users and stakeholders from different levels, organizations, countries and culturesÂ

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent understanding of software development practices including visioning, business analysis, strategic planning, resourcing, software development, change management, user engagement, communication, data migration, UAT, training, etc.Experience with iterative development, agile, scrum and with common software development tracking tools such as Jira and ConfluenceExperience initiating and managing large and complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.Understanding of drug development and life-sciences concepts/terminology strongly desired.Ability to apply project management core concepts in a fit-for-purpose, practical and efficient manner to meet the specific needs of each project.Excellent people and communication skills.Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.Scientific or technical degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
