Job purpose
The Material Handler I is responsible for performing warehouse functions including processing, checking, verifying, and inventorying packages and shipments received. Stores items or disburses and ships as necessary. Updates related computer records, documents, and files. Proficient in multiple material handling functions that include receiving and shipping orders with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions and Basic DutiesShips Products
Pulls/Audit material issues related to customer sales orders and/or Capital Equipment ordersShips product out in accordance with sales order requests, ensuring shipments are complete and correctIdentifies, tracks and resolves inventory and shipping errors, problems or delays
Receives
Products
Processes materials received; checks, verifies and tags materialsChecks receipts for proper quantities and item numbers. Rejects damaged goods and refers problems accordinglyEnters receiving information into the computer and forwards necessary information to area personnel
Inventory and Product Returns
Conduct Cycle Count Inventories of materials and finished goods. Ensures that all goods are appropriately packaged and labeled before storageRestocks shelves as neededProcess receiving activities related to RMA's
Any other duties as directed by supervisor/manager of departmentAdheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school or equivalent experience and educationMinimum of 2 years' experience in general warehouse (shipping and receiving procedures and standards)Required Knowledge
Basic knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures and policiesKnowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and standardsUnderstanding of related computer applicationsSkills and Abilities

usually works in a warehouse / manufacturing environmentThe Material Handler I
works a standard work week but may be required to work some weekends and evenings to fulfill the dutiesPhysical requirements
Must be able to type using the keyboard of a computerMust be able to lift and carry up to 60lbsMust be able to climb ladders
