Setup & Configuration:Configure MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters based on application requirements.Set up MongoDB BRS (Backup and Recovery System) and Ops Manager; onboard replica sets and sharded clusters.Security & Compliance:
Enhance MongoDB security using X509 and TLS authentication, adhering to Apple's security standards.Configure SSL key files for security across all MongoDB instances.Automation & Monitoring:
Automate backup, restore, and monitoring tasks using Python and shell scripting.Cluster & Replica Management:
Design, install, and configure multi-node MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets on Linux platforms.Add or remove replica and shard nodes as needed in MongoDB clusters.Create Text Index for querying documents with specific string content.Performance & Query Optimization:
Ensure even data distribution across shards using proper shard keys.Convert replica sets to sharded clusters to handle data growth and improve query performance.Tune query performance and optimize at the host and database levels.Upgrade & Migration:
Perform upgrades and migrations from MongoDB version 4.0 to 4.xx.Migrate MongoDB clusters to AWS and ensure a smooth transition.Ops Manager Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of MongoDB Ops Manager for deploying, migrating, monitoring, and tuning MongoDB clusters.Experience with Ops Manager upgrades, project and group management, and X509 authentication.Documentation:
Document installation, operational procedures, security measures, and auditing processes across multiple environments.Required Skills:
10+ years of experience as a MongoDB Database Administrator.Expertise in MongoDB configuration, replica sets, and sharded clusters.Experience with Python and shell scripting for automation.Hands-on experience with MongoDB Ops Manager.Knowledge of authentication, authorization (X509), and security implementations.Experience in MongoDB cluster migration to AWS.Strong knowledge of query performance tuning, sharding, indexing, and replication architecture.Desirable Skills:
Experience working with large-scale databases in secure environments.Familiarity with range-based and hash-based sharding.Advanced knowledge of MongoDB replication, change streams, and backup strategies.
