Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with 8-10 years of experience in software engineering and development support services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, planning, and implementation, with a focus on adhering to DoD and HIPAA security requirements. This role involves working on various government research projects, developing software components, and ensuring their integration and compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Software Development, Planning, and Implementation:
Conduct analysis and market research for government research objectives.Develop software designs for mobile devices, embedded systems, and computer-based components.Provide software engineering services to develop government-owned software components.Conduct software and technical reviews to ensure applications meet research objectives.Create and execute developmental test plans and research evaluations.Identify potential SBIR/STTR topics relevant to our Customer's mission.Test new system software and validate performance to established standards.Coordinate with help desk and operational personnel to maintain core functions.Advise the government on novel technical solutions.
Design Documentation:
Generate design documentation, including UML diagrams, functional design documents, test plans, and user acceptance standards.
Software Integration:
Integrate software applications with various Android, Linux, and Windows OS devices.Integrate medical applications with DoD EHR and other medical systems.Enable transmission of medical information using IP-based communication devices.
Risk Management Framework:
Support the execution of government-led Risk Management Framework processes.Develop and implement software engineering changes to remediate vulnerabilities.
Reporting and Briefing:
Develop and conduct briefings detailing recommendations and technical reports.
Evaluation and Integration:
Evaluate and integrate third-party advanced software applications.Provide technical support for field exercises, projects, and events.
Code Review:
Conduct Extramural Project Code Reviews and provide detailed reports.
Database Management:
Provide software engineering services for relational and non-relational database management systems.
Application Development:
Develop computer, mobile, and web applications using common computing languages and standards.Document code and development processes.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of DoD and HIPAA security requirements.Proficiency in software development for mobile devices, embedded systems, and computer-based applications.Experience with software integration, testing, and quality assurance.Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level-I (A+, Network+, or SSCP)Computer Environment (CE) Certifications as required by DoD Instructions 8500.01Minimum 8-10 years of experience in software engineering and development support services.TIER-2 Background Investigation and/or Security ClearanceAbility to obtain a Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:
Master's preferred.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 annually.
